Promote sweet mobility in the Maritime Mercantour territory
The cross-border road network, as it is currently configured on the territory of Mercantour Maritimes, is essentially dedicated to motorists. The parks have set themselves the goal of completing the placing tourism to sustainable development, and therefore propose to enhance the railway line, where it exists, and the public transport alternative, the impact on the environment is less to the movement of private vehicles.
The Parc National du Mercantour and the Parco Naturale Alpi Marittime are devoted to the promotion of “sweet Mobility”.
This is an extensive project, aimed at improving the accessibility of the countryside through the use of public transport, which is considered a viable alternative to individual journeys by car (which consume the most energy), or by other sweet methods, like the bicycle.
The idea is to entice visitors, the local population and those who do outdoor activities to use more environmentally friendly public transportation.
The cross-border road network, as it is currently configured in the Mercantour Maritimes territory is essentially dedicated to motorists. The parks have set themselves the goal of creating a tourism offering while keeping in mind sustainable development, and therefore proposing to enhance the railway line, where it exists, and alternative public transport. The impact on the environment would mean less private vehicle movement.
