To reach one of the nine valleys in our area, have a look at the map to the side here, and don’t forget to cross the border to see the rich diversity our transboundary heritage has to offer!

In winter some mountain passes and roads are closed. For further information regarding the French side consult Info Route Alpes de Haute-Provence and Info Route Alpes-Maritimes. For the Italian side check the Strade Anas website for details on road conditions.

By train
To reach the Marittime Mercantour areas by train, the two main stations to arrive at are Nice (book through Voyages Sncf) and Cuneo (book through Trenitalia).

If you want to reach the area and discover its treasures while travelling, choose:
The Merveilles train (the Cuneo-Nice line) it stops at Sospel, Breil sur Roya, S. Dalmas de Tende, Tende, Limone and Vernante. On the French side there is a guide aboard the train to illustrate and suggest itineraries. To find out more: - SNCF
The Train des Pignes (Nice - Digne-les-Bains line) serves the lower Var and Verdon valleys (Puget-Théniers, Annot, Thorame, Digne-les-Bains). To find out more:

The closest airports
At a little less than two and a half hours from the Marittime Mercantour area there are 5 international airports. Now there are no excuses for not coming to see our Parks and their exceptional natural and cultural heritage!

The Milan airports are about 3 hrs away and offer a number of low-cost flights. So the Marittime Mercantour area is accessible from all over Europe and further too.
