Vermenagna, the name of a flower

Vermenagna

It seems that the name «Vermenagna» derives from that of Verbena, an inconspicuous plant, but with exceptional properties. And so it the valley is also called: discreet charm, but full of resources. To appreciate it, traveling the highways is not enough, you have to take the side streets, walking through the historic center of the towns, stopping to discover its local products, such as the famous artisan knifes of vernantin, the beer of Troll, vernantin onions and more still.

Characterized by the mining industry below, the landscape above is redeemed with extensive pastures and forests of beech and chestnut trees. The main line of the valley dates back to Limone Piemonte, a Piedmontese historic ski resort, which offers over 80 km of slopes. The valley is frequented in the summer by excursionists, both on foot and on horseback cyclists and lovers of fresh air. Historically transit land, the Vermenagna Valley is the trait d’union of asphalt and rail between Piedmont and Provence.
